शनिवार अगदी नेहमीप्रमाणे उशीरा सुरू झाला. मग आवराआवरी, आठवड्याची सफाईची कामे पण झाली. नुकताच संध्याकाळचा चहा झालाय, म्हटलं चला जरा वाचत बसू. वाचण्यात काही लक्ष लागत नाहीये. ही वेळच तशी असते ना, कातरवेळ. मग 'कातरवेळ'च्या खूप आठवणी, एक प्रकारच्या उदास भावना मनात येत राहिल्या. आजपर्यंत अशा कित्येक संध्याकाळी मला अस्वस्थ करून गेल्यात,वाटलं काहीतरी लिहावं त्याबद्दल. शाळेत एक धडा होता आम्हाला 'कातरवेळ' नावाचा. त्याच्याबद्दल मला काही विशेष आठवत नव्हतं म्हणून मी Google वर गेले. मला भली मोठी यादी मिळाली 'कातरवेळ' या शब्दावर. ती यादी वाचून मला हसू आलं कारण यावर मी लिहिण्यासारखं काही नव्हतच. :-)) प्रत्येकाने ही अस्वस्थतेची भावना अनुभवलेली दिसतेय. असो.माझी संध्याकाळ या शब्दावर मिळालेल्य़ा blog वर जाण्यात आणि ते वाचण्यात संपून गेलीय. :-) तेव्हा यावरचं लिखाण पुन्हा कधीतरी !

Yes I think it was in 11th only. The story was about a girl who is just married and comes back to meet her parents after 5 days. Thats the story which made me like this word.
katarvel is by Arvind Gokhale. One of my favorite stories and the reason is same as yours "tya gostine katarvel shabada la arth dila".

Yes, Katarvel is a very good story in 11th std... can't forget those days (age: 18 yrs, the climate when it was taught (most likely in August or September or October), the teacher who taught us was also very romantic, the beach side view from our college).

Vidya I also remember that story which was prescribed in 11th standard. It was very heart touching.. I don't remember author's name but still I cherish my memories and also experienced same kind of feelings many times at 'KATARWEL'. Infact the word itself is very beautiful but gives melancholic feeling...

I have been searching the katarvel lesson from so many years, it was in 11th std Marathi textbook (Maharashtra board) in the year 1994-1995, but no luck finding it. Very heart touching short story. I even tried searching Arvind Gokhale yanchya Katha book on Amazon but it is unavailable. Does anyone have a copy of just this lesson and can share it here ? Thank You!
